Janice Atkinson wrote a sympathy message

“First of all, Nancy was the Queen of the Amazon (over 5' 8") Women! She was Queen N'Amazon and I was J'Amazon, a loyal subject. She would simply take the first initial of your first name tack on Amazon and you were part of the Amazon Kingdom. If you were vertically challenged and wanted to join, she would ask if you should be considered. If so, you were included but that was rare! My fondest memory of Nancy was when Troy lost his father and they came to town to take care of some business an”

“they came to town to take care of some business and clearing the home. She asked me how far I lived and I told her it was not far from the hotel they were staying at. So I asked that they go out to dinner and hang out at a place called Restaurant 219. It is owned by my friend Patty and it was a really special place. Patty made us a meal off the menu and we sat upstairs away from the crowd. It was the best time as we cackled and cracked jokes for a few.”

“Restaurant 219 has a bar den in the basement that can be accessed from the street, probably not bigger than 1,000 sq ft. We went down and asked the DJ to play 70's and 80's hits! We danced like we were still in high school trying to figure out the dance that went with the songs of that era”

“Showing our age, we laughed at the silliest things. Even one of her friends (who is an artist in the area) and her husband joined in. We simply had a great time. This is the picture from that time. Troy took it and you can see him in the mirror behind us. I am going to miss N'Amazon. She was always inclusive, adventurous, knowledgeable and above all FUN!! Love you Nancy!!”
