Nancy Lee Baker Obituary
Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and CemeteryNancy Winney Baker, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. She had her loving husband, George Allen Baker, by her side as they "danced their last dance" together in this life.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 11, 1944 to Charles and Chloe Winney. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, George, in August 1963 and they spent 60 wonderful years together. Together they had three sons as well as six grandchildren and a great grandchild. As a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, aunt, sister, and many other titles, Nancy loved her family and friends well and lived by example. She was one of the kindest and most caring people this world has ever seen. She loved Jesus and led others to him by living out her faith. She loved gardening and maintained a beautiful garden at home full of all kinds of flowers and plants. She also loved animals and cared for and protected them in any way that she could.
She is survived by her husband, George Baker (who is jealous that she beat him to see Jesus first), three sons, Lance (Lisa) Baker, Larry (Jean) Baker, and Troy (Shirley) Baker, six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kenny, Jonathan, Jacob, Alexandra, Katie, and great-grandchild, Luke. She is also survived by her brother, Charles (Lin) Winney, nieces Stephanie and Amy (great nephew Aiden), and nephew Charles. In addition, there are an extensive number of family and friends (many of which also being regarded as family) remaining whose lives were personally touched by Nancy (also affectionately known as Nana). She will be greatly missed by many.
