He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Franklin; and his brother Martin Franklin. He is survived by: his sister Mercedes Jackson; his wife Denise Franklin; his children, Marvin Franklin Jr., Mark Whitsett Sr. (Bernita), Marvia Franklin (Rhonda) and Randrea Mitchell; his stepchildren, Denise Neal, Wanda Fort, Paris Fort and Darryl Fort; and his siblings, Milton Franklin, Malcom Franklin Sr. (Ellen) and Marzieh Hashemi. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
