He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar McQuay, Sr. and Gladys Crettie McQuay; his siblings, James Edward McQuay, Thomas Harold McQuay, Maxine Lynette Murray and Queen Elizabeth Coleman; and his son-in-law Arnett Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline O. McQuay; his children, Natasha McQuay Wells (Richard, Jr.) and Darryck E. McQuay; his daughter-in-law Alecia; his grandchildren, Octavia Wells, Darryck McQuay, Jr., Victoria McQuay, Neveah Wells, Ne'Vonte Wells and DaAuntre Wells; his sisters, Patricia Ann Roscoe, Sylvia Renee McQuay and Nettie Mae Cummings (Darnell); and his close friends, Moses Bing (Alice), Merita Schuler, Johnnie Austin (Jimmy) and Van Foreman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
