He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whitworth and Agnes Whitworth; and his siblings, Michael Whitworth, Thomas Whitworth and Judith Whitworth.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Whitworth of Jacksonville, Florida; his sisters, Mary Sheldon and Brenda Whitworth; his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Bell, Diana Otto and Michael Jelski; his nieces, Tabitha Otto, Samantha Otto, Sabryna Otto, Salena Whitworth, Debrah Berger, Stacy Cook and Melodie DeCaire; and his nephew John Debrowski.
Lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
