He was predeceased by: his mother Mary. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Baez; his children, Ana M. Vargas (Angel Jusino), José M. Vargas (Mary) and Omayra Vargas (Danny Rivera); his grandchildren, José Vargas, Jorge Vargas (Caroline), Eric Middlebrook and Evan Middlebrook (Jenny); his great grandchild Cecilia; and his siblings, Manuel Ayala, Maximiliano Galarza "Papó", Rafael Galarza "Fifo", Priscilla Galarza "Prissy", Milagros Galarza and Lillian Galarza. He is also survived by spouses, and many nephews, nieces, and godchildren.
