It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Emmitt Willis of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Vero Beach, Florida, who passed away on January 6, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Willis and Elizabeth Willis (Brown). He is survived by: his wife Linda Layton of Jacksonville; his siblings-in-law, Rick Layton (Anne) of Salem, Massachusetts and Pat Tinnell of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and his close friend Jason Garaway of The Villages, Florida. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
