He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Elsie Gertrude Coffrin; his sister Betty Lou Libby (Neil); and his sons-in-law, Kenneth Lynn Froemming and Edward Joseph Carpenter.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia B. Coffrin; his children, John Mitchell Coffrin (Carla), Jacqueline Yvonne Froemming and Janet Lee Carpenter; his grandchildren, Amber Lynn Froemming, Alan Michael Froemming, Zachary Luke Coffrin (Maisie), Heather Lee Carpenter and Samuel Ryan Coffrin; and his great grandchild Dallas Wren Coffrin.
