He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Shafter and Minnie Lee Shafter. He is survived by: his wife Mary P. Shafter; his children, Shonterie McKeiver (Spencer) and Monica Shafter; his grandchildren, Chantiel McKeiver, Spencer "James" McKeiver and Christopher McKeiver; his nieces and nephews, Marshall V. White Jr. (Denika), Robert Shafter Jr., Derrick Shafter, Oceanus A. Fluellen, Tiffany Marshall (Dennis) and Niki Jackson; his stepchildren, Calvin Pittman, Derek Pittman, Tamara Carswell (Ellis) and Willisha Pittman; and his pets, Hermle and Grey. He is also survived by grandchildren; extended family, many friends.
