With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Francis Howick (Jacksonville, Florida), born in Alpena, Michigan, who passed away on August 18, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James and Maxine; his mother-in-law Virginia Leonore Taylor; his children, James Franklin Howick (Felissa), Bradford Louis Howick (Priscilla), Brenda Jean Hudnall (Tim), Holly Carol Molter and Cynthia Maxine Howick; his great grandchildren, Cooper Howick, James Howick, VI and Mia Howick; his siblings, Mary Vandenbosch, Tom Howick, Cathy Sherman Bittrick (Barry) and Pat Howick (Lyn); his wife Virginia; and his grandson Hunter Howick. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

“When June, Tommy and I moved to Washington DC , Jim and Virginia allowed us to stay with them and family until we could move into our house . June was pregnant with our second child. Jim said "I think it going to be twins". Our response was "If it is twins, you get one and we keep one" With a smile, he said " the more the merrier" With sincere Condolences, Tom and June Harrison”

“1. I was the Independent Hospital Corpsman when Jim the Captain of The USS CHOWANOC (ATF 100). On a WestPac Cruise, we were in port at Pearl Harbor. Jim went the the base dispensary an enlisted person said, "the sigh says that is for handicap parking". Jim's response ? "I'm handicapped, I can't read". Thomas Harrison, HMCS (Ret)”
