She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grady Swofford and Laura Mae Brown; her husband John Jarosz; her son Phillip Searcy; her brother Donald Swofford; and her stepfather George Bain.

She is survived by: her children, Kathy Moore, Sheila Pena and Lamar Searcy; and her brother J. T. "Tommy" Swofford. She is also survived by two step brothers; three step sisters; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
