He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mertz and Eleanor Mertz; his siblings, Mary (Pat) and Joe; and his former wife Cyndi.
He is survived by: his wife Angelieta "Angie" Mertz; his sons, Paul (Amy), Ray (Terri) and Christopher; his stepchildren, Donette, Michael and Terrell; and his pet Misty. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel (410 Webster St, Wildwood, FL 34785). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (2027 Co Rd 232, Wildwood, FL 34785).
