He was predeceased by: his father Harvey; his siblings, Harvetta, Jimmy, Roger and Robert; his son David L. Fountain; and his grandson Jacob Fountain.

He is survived by: his wife Terry Lyn Fountain; his children, Tracy J. Hicks and Michael D. Fountain; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Gabriella, Kameran, Jayden, Johnathan, Kaitlyn, Harmony and Mason. He is also survived by 21 nieces & nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
