It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Bunyan Cathey Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on February 22, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George, Sr. Cathey and Lotta Cathey (Herrick); his daughter Jane Ellen; and his siblings, Brooks and Lotta.

He is survived by: his former wife Virginia Smith; his son Stuart Alan; and his wife Barbara Powell. He is also survived by his wife, son and step kids, 5 grandchildren and 1 great as well as nieces and nephews.
