We are sad to announce that on August 22, 2023, at the age of 98, Evelyn L. Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Evansville, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Kerchief (Caldwell) and Willard M. Kerchief; her husband John Joseph Smith Jr.; her brother Raymond D. Kerchief; her half-siblings, Willard H. Kerchief Jr. and Elsie Kerchief; her nephews, Keith Kerchief, Brian Kerchief and Jerry Kerchief; and her niece Donna Jean Noriega (Kerchief).
She is survived by: her brother Shirley M. Kerchief (Bud) of Evansville; her sons, Stephen M. Smith of Jacksonville and Raymond L Smith (Nancy) of Blanchard, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Smith Jewell of Neptune Beach, Florida.; her grandchildren, Michael W. Smith (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, Kimberly Smith Candelaria (Edgardo), Courtney Smith Stahl (Jason) of Gainesville, Brittney Smith Odom (Bobby) of Midlothian and Ashley Smith of Mooresville; her great grandchildren, Jordan Smith, Nadia Candelaria, Sean Candelaria, Jonah Stahl, Joel Stahl, Wyatt Odom, Rylan Odom and Lila Odom; and her nieces, Kris, Shirley (Mark), Julie (Danny), Diane, Janet, Sylvia, Little Evelyn (Willard Jr.), Gerri Anne and Angela (Jimmy).
