We bid farewell to Eric Thomas Mahoney of Jacksonville, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 4, 2025 at the age of 27. Eric Thomas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He is survived by: his mother Diane Elizabeth Mahoney (Shepherd) of Orange City; his friend Nate Wells; his father James Mahoney; his brothers, Kevin James Mahoney (Ariel) of Tampa, Stephen Kenneth Mahoney and Timothy Scott Mahoney of Orange City; his godmother Patricia "Auntie Pat" Lotsey of Orange City; and his grandmother Marilyn Louise Shepherd of Port Orange. He is also survived by 18 aunts and uncles; 23 first cousins; 16 additional cousins; and countless friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lankford Funeral Home & Crematory (220 E New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724). A Mass was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Peter Catholic Church (359 New York Ave W, DeLand, FL 32720). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at the Hollywood Cemetery (1031 S Carpenter Ave, Orange City, FL 32763).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the ASPCA (PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929) in recognition of Eric's love for animals.
