He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde Whitaker and Ada Whitaker; his sister Betty Jane; his son Gil (Brenda); his grandchildren, Susan and Dale; his wife Joyce Price; his sister Betty Murray (Pat); his children, Susan Oliver (Steve) and Dale (Christy); his grandchildren, Erin Watson (Barry), Megan Hulling (Nick), Ashlan, Alyssa Whitaker, Jeff Whitaker (Erin), Whit Riley (Nikki), Alan and Alex Whitaker; and his great grandchildren, Price, Drew Watson, Wyatt, Ruby Hulling, Isabelle, Curran, Hughes Whitaker, Claire and Marin Riley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Ed's name be sent to either Haven Hospice of North Florida or the Jacksonville Humane Society.
