With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Avant Anderson (Jacksonville, Florida), who passed away on April 17, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Edith Avant may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Luther Avant and Sadie Marie Brewer; and her husband Bill Anderson. She is survived by: her children, Linda Jenkins, David Anderson (Lynn) and Lamont Anderson (Peggy). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many more beloved friends and family.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home (1373 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Murray Hill Baptist Church (4300 St Johns Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32205). A procession was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home (1373 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205).
