It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dulcie G. Bowers (Jacksonville, Florida), who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Maude Gustavson and Arthur William Gustavson. She is survived by: her sons, Thaddeus Ray Bowers, IV (Susan), David Scott Bowers (Julie Strickland) and Michael William Bowers (Amanda); her grandchildren, Thaddeus Andrew Bowers, Emily Bowers Sartin (Jim), Hines William Bowers, Graham Salter Bowers and Robert Camden Bowers; and her pets, Petunia and Nahna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrance donations for Dulcie to be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chattanooga (https://www.stpaulschatt.org), Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in Atlanta (https://holyinnocents.org).

We are losing our family history because we don't ever make the time to get together as a family anymore except for times like this. Soon all our founding members of our family will be gone and we will have to some how keep the family close and do things together like our parents did with us. We can't be that busy that we can't find a time to get together as a family on a little vacation or trip to see each other. What is”

“It is sad to lose another family member so soon after my other Aunt and my mother passed away in the spring and summer of 2023. I will always have so many memories of my Aunt Dulcie from the old house before moving to Middlebrook and our vacations to Florida and to the mountains as well as Hilton Head Is. She was one of the nicest people you could ever meet and she loved you with all her heart. My sorrow goes out to my cousins TR, Scott and Michael. I feel for all 3 of you. Just like I told you.”
