Deserie Phillips Obituary

Ms. Deserie D. Phillips was born October 15th 1958 in Brooklyn, NY to David Phillips and June Hakeem-Gibson. She attended and graduated from Satellite Academy Class of 1977. After graduating Deserie went into the financial industry and worked at banks such as: The Bank of New York, First Union (Wells Fargo), and Bank of America. She thrived in this profession for over 30 years until retiring in 2016. She was known for her sassy attitude and fun loving spirit.

Deserie is preceded in death by her mother June Hakeem-Gibson, her uncle James “Jimmy” Chandler, and grandparents Wilmer & Jewel Chandler. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Jewel Allen-Phillips, her granddaughter Amethyst Jones, her Aunt Marion Chandler and cousins Sharon Mingo-Clark, Jason Clark, and Diane Chandler along with a host of other extended family and friends.
