It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Burgess of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid David farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For David is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wallie Burgess and Rose Magdalene "Maggie" Burgess; and his brothers, Wendell Wayne Burgess and Leonard Talmadge Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Burgess; his children, David Andrew Burgess (Morgan Telesky) and Kayla Nicole Burgess; and his siblings, Larry Burgess (Elaine), Diane Blackwelder, Mary Denton (Bob) and Connie Grubb (John). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
