She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Brooks and Margaret Brooks; her brothers, Lee Blakey and Arzell Brooks; and her son Marcellus Holmes III.
She is survived by: her husband Leon Miller; her grandchildren, Marisa Holmes Sampson and Marcellus Holmes IV; her siblings, Nancy Bruner (Cobbie), Pamela Brooks, Morris Brooks Jr. (Catherine), Samuel Brooks and Lawerence Brooks (Sharon); her aunt Dathula Hines; and her great-niece Virginia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jr. Memorial Chapel (4315 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Zion Fellowship (6007 Seaboard Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32244).
