He is survived by: his wife Varish Annette Mainor Patten; his children, Delmas Brown, Cortez Patten, Jr., Tiffani Patten Jones, Zaneta Patten Martin (Rico), Phaedra Coleman Johnson (Pastor Don), Rev. Vantrel Mainor (Sheri) and Tezlyn Wallace; his siblings, Tommy Balom (Hope), LaJoyce Melvin Richardson, Jessie Melvin, Jerusha Melvin and Louis Lamar Melvin; his niece Tina Melvin; his cousin Barbara "Barb" Peavy (Leon); his aunt Louise Wanton; his siblings-in-law, Victor A. Mainor (Carrie), Venus Mainor Greene (Nathaniel), Venease Mainor Jones and Valerie Morris Jones; and his friends, Daniel and Doris Troy. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
