He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Zimmerman and Rosa Mae Zimmerman; his son Charles Zimmerman Jr.; and his siblings, Alberta Zimmerman, Ida Mae Zimmerman and Harvey Zimmerman.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Zimmerman; his children, Valerie Zimmerman and Carlos Zimmerman (Julie); his grandchildren, Renoda Nealey (Lemuel), Shameki Zimmerman, Anquan Carter, Jasmine Ellison (Michael), Elijah Zimmerman, Raven Zimmerman and Micah Zimmerman; his great grandchildren, Deon Sanders, Shamar Zimmerman, Jaida Nealey, Mariah Dixon and Lemuel Nealey; and his nieces, Leslie Zimmerman and Loretta Wiggins. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
