Betty Jean Scott Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Scott of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Madison, Florida, who passed away on September 3, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Donald E. Scott, Sr.; and her siblings, Jeanette Gibbs, Josephine Lane, Lula Mae Carney, Weta Johnson, Loretta Baxter, T. W. Bailey and Henry F. Bailey.

She is survived by: her children, Donna Kathleen "Kathy" Cooley (Mark) and Donald E. Scott, Jr. (Marilyn); her grandchildren, Matthew Cooley (Calvin), Amanda Maclay (Travis), Elizabeth Rigdon (Greg) and Mandie Davis (Justin); and her great grandchildren, Brynn, Carys, Delaney, Emmalyn Maclay, Elijah, Lilah Rigdon, Landon and Brett Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She volunteered with the Oceanway Senior Center where she was the Program Director for several years and served over 1500 hours with the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

The family has requested donations be made to Community Hospice in lieu of flowers.
