We bid farewell to Barry G McCoy of Jacksonville, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 25, 2025 at the age of 62. Barry touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry McCoy and Shirley McCoy (Patton); his siblings, Jerry Wayne McCoy and Robin Pugh; his sister-in-law Susan McCoy; his nieces, Heather McCoy and Linde Pugh; his grandparents, Robert McCoy, Ida Mae Mathers, Claude Patton and Sally "Sarah" Patton; his father-in-law Charles Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Randy Smith, Jeff Smith and Debbie McGuffey.
He is survived by: his wife Dana; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Dr. Marcy Platzer; his grandson Maxwell; his stepmother Ronda McCoy; his mother-in-law Carol Gentle (John); his stepmother-in-law Karen Smith; his siblings-in-law, Klara Smith (Tyson), Kitty Smith, Owen Pugh, Tyson Smith (Klara) and Danny McGuffey; and his aunts, Irmgard McCoy, Nancy Smith (Ron), Rosie Hamilton, Linda Trout and Betty White (Jim). He is also survived by numerous cousins, and nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home (3600 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
