She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Matthews and William Toombs; and her niece Brittany Matthews. She is survived by: her siblings, Dr. Earl Matthews (Gail), Bruce Matthews, Xavier Matthews (Maria) and Alfreda Matthews; her uncle Herman McGoogin; her aunt Ruby Coleman; her cousin Carolyn Byrd; and her friend Gabriel Cruise. She is also survived by nieces/nephews, grandnieces/nephews.
