He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jone Evans, Sr. and Dora Lee Geddis; and his stepfather Luther Geddis. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Evans; his children, Andre Evans, Tasha Evans, Patrena Evans and Jamire Williams; his grandchildren, Chris "CJ" Evans of Damante, Ja'nae Frazier, Zaire Williams and Zamire Williams; his children, Alisa Carey, Jerry Gallion Jr., Latiffany Gallion, Timothy Gallion (Kennisha) and Terrance Gallion; his brother Ronald Straughter (Frank Harris); his uncle Rev. Roosevelt Geddis; his aunts, Lavern Harrison and Barbara Blake; his cousins, John Payton and Minnie; and his close friend Willie Frison. He is also survived by relatives, coworkers and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Greater Harvest Christian Fellowship (9113 Ridge Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32208). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
