He is survived by : his wife Nancy; his children, Kathy Borders Hunt, Scott Borders, Vince Sluzele and Pete Sluzele (Anita); and his brother George Borders (Sybil). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the The-Sea Episcopal Church (465 11th Ave N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250).
