He was predeceased by: his parents, John McGuckin and Kathleen McGuckin; and his siblings, Claire, Thomas, James and Jack.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth McGuckin (Geier); his children, Ruth McGuckin, Susan Nichols, Sharon Ethier, William McGuckin Jr. (Linda), Jo Anne Carroll (Tim), Patrick McGuckin (Kristan) and Michael McGuckin (Tina); and his siblings, Mary Anne Boyd, Lorretta Kathleen, Marguerite Raymond and Joseph McGuckin. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
