He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Rye and Callie J. Hering Rye; and his brothers, John Barton "J. B." Rye and David Earl Rye. He is survived by: his children, James E. Rye and Vicki S. Calvert (Strickland); his stepchildren, Michael Cohran and Leigh Anne Sherwood (Cohran); and his grandchildren, Joe Strickland, Chase Calvert, Alissa Jones, Emily Sherwood and Breanna Cohran.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Paran Baptist Church (125 Paran Church Rd, Melrose, FL 32666).
