He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hanks and Agnes Irene Buell Hanks; his son Joe Hanks; his granddaughter Chastity Hanks; and his great grandchild Dylan Hanks Crumpton.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris Hanks, Sr. (Chrystal) of Union County, Greg Hanks and Christa Hanks of Hollister; his brother Michael Hanks; his sister-in-law Carolyn C. Hanks of Bradford County; and his sister Agnes Yvonne Johnson of Gulf Port. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
