He was predeceased by: his parents, Willa Mae and Travis Lee Akin. He is survived by: his wife Edith; his children, Cara Hoffman (Jeff), Leah Johnson (Chad) and Travis; his grandchildren, Max, Holly, Ben Hoffman and Zach Blalock; and his sister Donna Ring (Harvey).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Satellite High School, 300 Scorpion Court, Satellite Beach, FL 32937, in memory of Travis Akin.
