She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglas Pate and Gladys Record Pate; her husband Allan Roland Gilbert; her brother Kenneth Wallace Pate; and her stepgranddaughter Debbie Blake Lomax.

She is survived by: her brother Robert Pate; her sons, Dennis (Nancy), Thomas (Kat), Kenneth (Susan) and James (Luz); and her grandchildren, Miranda, Mike, Devonne, Kelly, Gene, Jennifer and Jamie.
