He was predeceased by: his siblings, Agnes Hetrich, Dora Panik and William Panik; his stepsister Shirley Bartholomew; and his stepmother Hilda Hessinger (John).

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his sons, John F. Panik Jr. (Michelle) and Kevin R. Panik; his stepson Neil Frank DeLuca; his grandchildren, Carissa Panik (Taran), John Francis Panik III (Alana) and Amanda Panik; and his stepbrother Walter Panik (Terri).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
