He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arturo Rivera and Sorida Gonzales; his daughters, Maria Gordillo (Samuel) and Guadalupe "Lupe" Chaparro (Efrain Martinez); his wife Josefina Rivera; and his son John Garcia. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great- grandchildren, and 2 great great great-grandchildren, along with 4 sisters and 2 brothers, extended family and friends.
