He was predeceased by: his parent Melfi; his wife Carolyn Marie Field; and his brothers, Ignazio and Cataldo. He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Honkamp (Nick) of Des Moines, Linda Elkins (Chris) of Bozeman and Montana; and his grandchildren, Annie, Andrew, Mary, Claire Honkamp, Ben, John and Samantha Elkins. He is also survived by nephews, and a sister-in-law.
