He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith Sr. and Bessie Young; his sister Lucille Lyman; his brothers-in-law, John Lyman and James Corcoran; and his nephew Carl.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughter Wanda Alter; his daughter-in-law Terri Smith; his grandchildren, Sarah Amsden, Justin Senatro, Daniel Norwood, Dylan Bigge, Haylie Alter and Brenda Gordon of Clearwater; and his stepsons, Nicky Aldridge (Laura) and Shannon Sidebottom. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren.
