It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Joan Haddox Powell (Homestead, Florida), born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on October 20, 2019, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry J. Haddox and Audra Anna Flanigan Haddox; her husband John E. Powell; and her siblings, Harold Haddox, Paul Haddox and Nancy Meredith.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Rhoads (Carl) of Shreveport, Judy Farr of Raleigh, NC, Nancy Goodson (Bob), Jane Mullins (Rick) of Homestead, FL and John Powell of Shreveport. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mrs. Powell's name to First United Methodist Church Shreveport and Lifepath Hospice Care, 8720 Quimper Place, Suite 100, Shreveport, LA 71105.
