He was predeceased by: his parents, John E Holmes (Jack) and Catherine Holmes; his brother John; his daughter Donna; and his son-in-law Don Rowe.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; and his children, Hugh, Jr. (Chris), Deborah Hall (Glenn), Cherri Rigney (Johnny), Jean Bystrom (Bill) and Judy Titsworth (Steve). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made in Hugh's name to the Islanders 4 Clean Water (c/o Holmes Beach City Hall) and Roser Memorial Community Church.
