William H McGrath Obituary
William Harold McGrath passed away on November 18th, 2021 in Hollywood, Florida at the age of 59. He is survived by his sister, Deborah Cutler, brother and sister in law, Richard and Cynthia McGrath, and step mother Karen McGrath.
Bill grew up in Framingham Massachusetts and graduated from Framingham North High School. He was very active in sports where his talents took him to a state championship in bowling at a young age as well as a brief career in minor league baseball before his injuries sidelined him from the sport.
Bill later enlisted in the army and served several years including active duty overseas in Germany before leaving the military with an honorable discharge. Bill returned to the family farm in Pennsylvania spending many happy years with his brother Rick and sister in law Cindy.
Searching for more from life, Bill entered and graduated from Penn State University with a teaching degree. He used the degree to educate in a maximum security juvenile prison back in Boston, Massachusetts. When asked why he would work in such a dangerous situation, he would always reply, "I only need to save one kid at a time to know I'm doing a great job." Due to Bill's efforts many went on to receive their GED from high school.
Bill eventually made it to his true calling in Ft Lauderdale, Florida teaching at Somerset Academy Charter School. He would spend 19 years educating, story telling, and basking in the glory of teaching hundreds, if not thousands of young adults how to live their Best Life. He taught them to live with honesty, integrity, and the self confidence to achieve the greatness they deserve.
Bill will be sadly missed.
