He is survived by: his daughter Melissa McCarthy (John Jr.); his grandchildren, Emmett McCarthy, Cierra Porter and Alona Porter; his great grandchildren, Kenedii McCarthy and Kylee McCarthy; and his siblings, Richard Knisely (Debbie), John Knisely, Robert Knisely (Amanda), Dawn Bounds, Kitty McCune (James) and Mary Doolittle (Garnet Knisely). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great neices and great nephews.
