“Mel was a dear friend who I met at Temple Beth El when Jonna was a preschool teacher at their preschool and my son was in her class. I subsequently learned that Mel was an accomplished wood worker (in addition to being a talented musician). Years later we decided to renovate our kitchen and of course, Mel came to mind. We decided to have Mel do the remodel. I had always wanted to take wood shop when I was in high school, but girls rarely did that in the 60s so I never felt that I had the opp”
