She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Massey (O'Brien) and Patrick Massey; her husband George Emerson Abels; her daughter Barbara K. Reth; her sisters, Ann Marie Heath (Robert) and Loretta Gavin (William); and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Massey.
She is survived by: her children, James Abels (Cheryl) of Akron, William Abels (Patricia) of Akron, Ruthann Foltz (Dennis) of Norwalk and Georganne Hayson (Russ) of Hollywood; her grandchildren, William Foltz (Paige), Sharla Vignone (Dan), Lynn Carney (Jeff), Andrena Reth, Laura Smith (Michael), Brenda Langella (Stephen), Patrick Abels, Carly Abels, Kelly Twigg (Ryan) and Erin Hartong (Matthew); her great grandchildren, Emma, Mark, Dakota, Justin, Kaitlyn, Evan, Thomas, Lucas, Tyson, Hayden, Landry, Everett and Austin; and her brother James P. Massey of Cuyahoga Falls.
Memorial contributions in Kathleen's honor may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
