He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Soares of Barros and Maria; his siblings, Antonio, Ana Alice of Lurdes and Maria Alice; and his former wife Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Diana, Mark (Elena) and Jennifer (Frank); his grandchildren, Emma, Guillermo and Adrian; and his sisters, Sophia and Yolanda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
