He is survived by: his siblings, Louise Lee Howard, Vivian Thompson, Lillie Liddell and Felix Nathaniel Thompson, Jr.; his stepmother Johnnie Mae Thompson; his wife Abbie Altamese Thompson; his children, Valarie Young McClairen, Javan Thompson, Jr., Terry Terrell Thompson and Fabian Davis; his grandchildren, Stephen Michael Young, Demere Thompson, Tariq Russell Thompson, Amari Simone Thompson and Ta'lyr Jalon Thompson; his great grandchildren, Ryder Dipaul, Kelsie Smith and Elliana Mae Thompson; his siblings, Sharon Annette Donley (Thomas), Jule Thompson and George Thompson (Sherry); his stepsiblings, Stella Thomas (Bobby), Leola Baker (Roosevelt) and Wendell Bush (Dora); his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Harris (Alfonso), Mellanese Jones (Gilbert), Gary Mason (Mae) and Jackey Mason (Sheila); and his friend Freddie Mason. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
