He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillian Remite and James J. Remite; and his siblings, Nicholas Remite and Angelina Higgins. He is survived by: his former wife Aristi Constantin; his children, James J. Re Mite (Dana Sawan) and Ghilia Smith (Mike Smith); and his grandchildren, Brandon Sargent, Alexandra Humphries, Elisabeth Killinger, Michelle Verkamp and Michael Smith.
