He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garfield Hurt and Shirley Juanita Jones Mousel (Frederick William Mousel); and his son William David Hurt. He is survived by: his wife Joan "Joanie" Hurt of High Springs; and his children, Jerry Garfield Hurt, Jr. (Lisa), Cathy Hurt Coleman (Lee) of Hudson and Julie Hurt Winthrop of Trenton.
