With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ray William Powell in Hawthorne, Florida, born in Miami, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 25, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Ray William leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Georgia Powell and Frank Powell; and his mother-in-law Dorothy. He is survived by : his wife Betty Powell of Hawthorne, FL; his son John D. Powell of Cameron, NC; and his sister Diana Giannotti of Bonifay, FL.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Forest Meadows of Gainesville (725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609).

His contributions to his community and country will not be forgotten.
