It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hattie Thornton of Hawthorne, Florida, who passed away on October 21, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband JT Thornton; her daughter Yvonne T Herring (Eugene Sr.); her grandchildren, Eugene Herring Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Hattie Lartrelle Herring and Katrina Yvonne Herring of Orlando, FL; her great grandchildren, Jayla Genae Herring Tallahassee and Aniya Jade; her godson Reginald Strickland (Carmelitta); her brother-in-law Willie E.; her nieces, Willie Marie Herring (Lenton), Juanita, Doris, Natiska Banks of Athens, GA and Retha; and her nephew Houston G Porter (Christine). She is also survived by grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
